Can I go into Walmart with my grandma and sign for her to cash her tax check? She lost her i.d and is waiting up to 10 business days to receive her new one in the mail. I have an I.d could I do that for her?

It's doubtful. They usually require an ID with the same name that's on the check.

That would be absolutely against the law.  It would be a problem with any check but a tax check is even more so.

She would have to sign the check over to you, and then you endorse it with your own signature. However, this will make it a 3rd party check so you need to find out if they will accept that before you do it. If Walmart won't do it, maybe your bank or a grocery store can do it. Find out before anyone signs it.
