I'm not a fan of just handing my child money. They don't learn anything when you just open up your billfold / wallet and dole out cash. If my son wanted any money, he needed to do extra things around the house.
Adults don't go to work to sit on their butts and have their employer just hand them cash for work they didn't do. Children need to be taught that there is a correlation between work and money.
There is enough entitlement in this world without adding to it.
