Cultural differences have major effects on Marketing because of the audience to whom you are marketing the product.  What is acceptable in the US may be taboo in another country.  In order to market a product or service correctly you must first know your audience.  That stands whether your audience ranges in age or culture.

Have you ever watched foreign commercials?  If I am not mistaken in France many of their commercials are quite "Risque" even for American eyes.  If not, try to look up some online (maybe try You Tube).  That should help you to see the difference culture can have on Marketing.
