Although a person has earned a particular amount of money but not received it at the end of the period of reportage, it gets accumulated. This accumulated money that is called 'accrued assets' and when the concerned person gets the money it is called 'accrued revenue'. The accrued asset should be shown under the heading of current asset in the balance sheet.

The term is an accounting term and mostly used by financial experts. To know more about the application of this term, you can go through any good glossary of financial terms. One of the simplest examples of this term is when you don't pay the rent for one month it accumulates in the next month and when you pay it to the landlord, the money is called accrued revenue for him.
