  • Unemployment Health Insurance
Kaiser is very shy about publishing what unemployment or other plans they will accept. This is no doubt due to budget constraints: There are strict limits on what can and cannot be done under unemployment insurance.

  • Barack Obama's Reforms
The provision of general medical help to all levels of the country regardless of insurance has been passed, but does not come into force until 2014. Until then, you will be required to have some form of medical insurance.

It can be said that most Europeans find the whole US medical system somewhat ridiculous since universal medical care there is provided through taxation not insurance.

There are some areas of Europe that do not provide taxation based services, such as Eire, but the United Kingdom and others provide entirely insurance free services to its citizens, regardless of their income.

  • Kaiser and Medical Insurance
To put it bluntly, as Kaiser is an insurance company in its own right, it does not accept any other company's insurance at all. It would prefer people to come to it with either an existing Kaiser policy or a request for a new one. It stands to reason that Kaiser would not encourage its competitors at its own detriment.
Kaiser is an HMO, not a hospital organization.

It uses its own policies to fund treatment in its own hospitals. Any other insurance taken to Kaiser is not welcome as it does not originate with Kaiser themselves.

  • Kaiser and Medi-cal
Despite a direct question to Kaiser, the only reply was a direction to call the following telephone number: 1-800-464-4000. This is a Kaiser members' only number, which on its own illustrates their thinking towards other companies.
